Abstract (EN)
Georgia is very important geopolitically and economically in the Caucasus and Black Sea region. Despite the ups and downs in the history, political and economic history of Turkey and Georgia, their relations have been continuous. With the independence of Georgia, bilateral and multilateral relations have increased with the contribution of Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline and Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum natural gas lines. Georgia is also very important as Turkey's gateway to the Caucasus. Although many commercial and political agreements have been signed between the two countries, the trade between them is still below its potential. Georgia's climate and natural resources are rich and it is partly positively differentiated from the region. With the Free Trade Agreement signed by the two on November 1, 2008, Georgia gained the opportunity to export to Europe more easily. With the "Agreement of the Century" signed by Georgia and Azerbaijan, the two countries increased their visibility in the international arena and among themselves and improved their relations. In this study, the import-export figures of Turkey and Georgia are growing day by day thanks to the political, commercial and cultural agreements they signed. Georgia is trying to attract investors to the country with the incentives it gives in different sectors such as hydroelectricity, agriculture and tourism. In the first part of our study, which consists of three parts, the history of Georgia, trade and bilateral relations were examined. In the second part, the economic situation of Turkey from 1990 to the present and its relations with Georgia are discussed. In the third chapter, Georgia's incentives, problems with Turkey, possible business opportunities and suggestions are discussed.
