Abstract (EN)
The rights of the patients, who are defined as the rights they have because of being human, are the reflection of basic human rights in the field of health services. The need for protection of the patient during the provision of health care is due to the patient being independent, regardless of the social position of the patient and is protected by international texts and national level. Historian method and source scanning technique was used in the study. Turkey and international documents are given to issues related to patient rights. In 1961, the most important pillar of patient rights in our country is the 19 Regulation of Medical Deontology. The Patient Rights Regulation, published in the Official Gazette on August 1, 1998, is a recent step in this regard. In the last part of this regulation, legal sanctions are given in case of violation of patient rights. Patient rights cover the principles and rules that the parties are obliged to comply with in order to improve the communication between the patient and the health personnel. Evidence of the evolution of patient rights in our country has been revealed with the relevant documents.
