Abstract (EN)
This thesis presents a comparative analysis of the professional challenges faced by women musicians in Turkiye and Kazakhstan within the context of gender. Using a qualitative research design, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 20 women musicians, equally divided between Western classical and folk music performers. The findings indicate that women in both countries face gender-based inequalities, though the intensity and form vary according to regional and cultural contexts. The study highlights the need for structural support, gender-equality policies, and protective mechanisms to ensure greater professional recognition and equality for women musicians.
