The development and problems in the logistics sector in Turkey

Logistics which is one of the star sectors of the future has had a speedy development in Turkey in the recent years. The fact that Turkey has border with seas in its tree sides, it is on a key spot and constant developments in the highways has helped the development of logistics and its expansion to the international arena. The development of logistics in Turkey in the last 10 years has helped many people have job in this sector. Therefore, a new item has been added to our natural resources, and both domestic and international shipping business has developed. Our international logistics has developed; and therefore, Turkish companies make transportation to every corner of the world. Although The Europeans who fear that the Turkish logistics firms will be more dominant in the market impose a quota so as to hinder the Turkish firms to be dominant in the market, the Turkish companies which have a high quality work in turn for low price have a serious share of the market in every condition in Europe. As a result of the development of the logistics business, shipment business and new employment opportunities have also developed. However, because the sector is new in Turkey, it has brought some problems together with it. In this study, the development of the logistics sector in Turkey, its problems and solutions are handled.
