Determining factors of export performance of Turkey in selected sectors

The purpose of this study titled "Determining Factors of Export Performance of Turkey in Selected Sectors" is evaluating the factors that determine the performance of Turkey's total exports, in particular exports to European Union countries, in certain sectors and examining the analysis in terms of export performance of Turkey over the last decade. In the first part, from 1980 to present, the incentives and possible obstacles that support export are discussed and their effects on trade with the European Union are evaluated. By the second part of the study the factors determining the performance of Turkey's exports to the European Union Countries, taking into account empirical descriptions are examined in the first section of white goods and apparel industries and the change in the factors affecting Turkish exports from past to present is evaluated. In the final section of the study, the evaluations made in terms of both the country group and selected sectors are discussed and the foreign trade of our country, which is currently in the process of becoming a member of the European Union, is analyzed in selected sectors. While conducting this analysis, the historical data of the ready-made garment and white goods sector, the reports prepared for these sectors and the statistics on imports of the European Union member countries are reviewed.
