Abstract (EN)

Terrorism is an aged concept as much as the history of humanity. Terrorism and violence are frequently used in the name of seeking solution for the problems as a method of providing justice within the different layers of the society. Terrorism has kept its existence due to the incoming fear itself. Terrorism has been one of the main issues experienced by governments in recent years. By intelligently utilizing high technology, terrorism has gained wide area effect through national and regional levels. Terrorism has a dynamic structure which always objectively and subjectively renews and varies itself. It is impossible to struggle with terrorism as reserving certainly stable forms of definitions and concepts. Within the umberalla of justice, it is important to objectively expand the list of terrorist organizations defined by United states and EU. The countries victimized by terrorism must try to add new names of terrorist organizations harmfully affecting them. Not only be perceived as an issue of security, but terrorism should be handled by accounting social, economical ad cultural issues. That is; it has to be analyzed and evaluated from the perspective of political and cultural background causing and feeding terrorism The researchs show that social, psychological, political and economic factors are more effective for the root reasons of terrorist activities. Terrorist organizations can attain sympathizers and recruit new members as motivating crowds with black propaganda on differences and problems inside the society. They can legitimate their illegal activities by professionally using their certain propagandist technics and methods. The researchers has recently been adapting new profilling models as developing proper policies within the context of terrorism. As a relatively new method, the profilling methodology has become more important to understand the nature of terrorist activities and to develop right policies in the country. Accordingly; this study aims to explore the profile of Al-Quada as one the most well known terrorist organşzations in the world. It specifically concentrates on the extent of Al-Quada in Turkey.Keywords: Terror, Violence, Propaganda, Media, Profile
