Abstract (EN)
This dissertation evaluates the tendencies in the writing of theater history developing in Turkey through the national theater history books written between 1923-1980, focusing perspectives on writing history that originated in the West and Turkey and the formation process of the theater historiography in the West. As a case study, it is aimed to analyze theater historian Metin And's perspective that he had while he creating his works and to reveal the ideological and cultural influences that shaped his approach to historiography.
