Socie-economic functions of the foundation in Turkey (A research on social charity and solidarity foundations through the city of Izmir)

Along the history foundations have meet basic social needs such as education, health and social security. Today it is seen that foundations have continued this functions. In Turkey the state have lack of in social security, social charity, education and health services area. This inadequacy has meet to set up with various foundations in this areas. Thus, it is founded Social Charity and Social Solidarity Foundations in parallel to Social Charity and Social Solidarity Encouragement Law which is come into force with the law of number of 3294 in 1986, aim to help poor citizens who are in need of the other people and are not connnected with any social security establishment which is founded with law. In this research it has examined that the social and economic functions and its suitability to the establishment aims of Social Charity and Social Solidarity Foundations which are into activity through the city of İzmir.
