Abstract (EN)
The study aimed to determine the level of depression among students from Palestine, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, and Libya in the 2021-2022 academic year at Sakarya University and Sakarya University of Applied Sciences. The current study used the descriptive analytical method for its suitability to the subject and objectives of the study. The questionnaire had used as a controlled tool to collect data from the study sample members and used the Beck Depression Scale BDI-II to determine the level of depression. The researcher distributed the questionnaire electronically using the GOOGLE DRIVE feature and analyzed the results of the study using the SPSS program. The study sample consisted of 333 students from Palestine, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, and Libya studying at Sakarya University and Sakarya Applied Universities. According to the study's findings, determined that the level of depression was 16.2 mild among students. The results of the study also showed that there was no statistically significant difference in the depression levels of the students depending based on gender, age, marital status, education level, language level and place of residence. The results of the study showed that there were statistically significant differences in the depression levels of the students depending on the grade point average variable and according to the monthly expenditure. Finally, based on the study's findings, the researcher devised proposals for universities, organizations, and researchers, as well as proposals from the perspective of social work aimed at alleviating and preventing student depression.
