Turkey's emigration administration strategy to Ahiska Turks who come for settling into Turkey

The main research objects of the study are migration perception of Ahiska Turks who have significant population in Turkey and problems confronted in public sphere in case of emigration from various countries. This study tries to find out how Ahiska Turks who migrate from Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Georgia and Ukraine to Turkey and live in different cities in Turkey, integrate to Turkish society/why unable to integrate; to propose political solutions regarding problems. Research focuses on current living conditions of Ahiska Turks living in Turkey without making any discrimination about settlements and their visibilities in public sphere. Socio-demographic characteristics of Ahiska Turks and their participation level of local/national mechanisms will be identified with democracy practices of Turkey as an essential indicator. Also it will contribute to the literature as a conceptual and empirical original study which is about migration policy to Turkish based ethnic group of Ahiska Turks. Methodology of this study is based on field study, face to face interviews and empirical research methods. In-depth interviews were conducted and semi-structured interview questions were directed to Ahıska Turks. Turkey has to take into consideration the migration actors not included in mass migration movements but already settled in Turkey. This study is an original research that aims to bring forward a proposal on migration policies for Ahiska Turks who deserve to be considered as one of the migration actors and to give a new impulse to the approaches to migration phenomenon which is highly disputed in Turkey recently.
