Abstract (EN)
Technological developments in the last quarter of the 20th century affected the media field, as in many other fields, and caused changes. As a result of the change and transformation in this field, media; It is divided into two: "traditional" and "new". With the emerging new media field, changes have occurred in the communication processes and forms of individuals and societies, from their living spaces to their daily habits. New media literacy, with the rapid development of information and communication technologies, provides people with digital skills and online opportunities, and is also an important topic of discussion due to the risks it carries. Individuals' ability to connect to the Internet, regardless of time and place, through mobile devices and smartphones, and to easily access everything, makes new media tools an indispensable part of our lives. Another issue that reveals the importance of this study is that the conceptual framework of the topics included in the thesis is very broad. This is an important place to shed light on other researchers who will work in the field. With this study, it is aimed for adult individuals to gain knowledge and skills about new media literacy, to be informed about the messages and contents they will encounter in new media, to develop a critical attitude and to gain writing skills. Thus, it is aimed for individuals to be individuals who control these messages, rather than being in control of the messages they encounter in the media.
