Abstract (EN)

In this study, karyologic properties of six species of Achillea L.?s genus (A. oligocephala DC. , A. schischkinii Sosn. , A. setacea Waldst. & Kit. , A. coarctata Poir. ,A. biebersteinii Afan. , A. cappadocica Hausskn. & Bornm.), which are grown in Turkey, were investigated. Seeds of the examined species were benefited from for chromosome studies. In consequence of the studies performed in divisible somatic cells, chromosome counts and karyotype analyses of species were done and idyograms were generated. It is found that among species chromosome number for A. oligocephala DC. , A. setacea Waldst. & Kit. , A. coarctata Poir. , A. biebersteinii Afan. , A. cappadocica Hausskn. & Bornm. is 2n=18, while it is 2n=36 for A. schischkinii. It is confirmed that the chromosomes are median point (M), median region (m), or submedian (sm) centromeres.
