Abstract (EN)

In this study, how digital technologies affect journalistic practices and organization is discussed. In the first part, liberal-pluralist and critical approaches within the framework of journalism theories are examined. Some theories that examine the ideological functions of journalism as well as their strong and limited effects are emphasized. In the second part, the technological developments in the field of informatics are discussed. It is tried to explain how these technologies affect the media and the characteristics of the new media. In the third chapter, the changes that digital technologies have created in journalistic practices and organization are discussed. With the digital developments, new working methods in journalism and the transformation of news production processes are examined. In the fourth chapter, the new economic dynamics and new revenue models of the advertising industry that emerged after digital transformation are emphasized. In the fifth chapter, reflections on journalism practices and organization of digital transformation in Turkey were examined over Hurriyet and Medyascope sample cases.
