Abstract (EN)

In this study, some of the chemical and physical parameters were measured in water samples taken from 3 stations on Tutmaç Pond, which is located within the borders of Tutmaç village of Sivas province, between February 2016 and January 2017. These stations were located in eastern side of Tutmaç pond, in southwestern side, and the point, where Brook Başören poured into the pond (at northwestern side of the pond). Throughout the study, samples were taken monthly from the sampling stations, and the values (general mean, standard deviation, and seasonal mean) obtained during 12 months were examined. In order to determine the water quality, the samples taken from all three sampling stations were examined in terms of dissolved oxygen (mg/L), salinity (ppt), pH, temperature (℃), electrical conductivity (µs/cm), suspended solid matters (mg/L), chemical oxygen demand (mg/L), biological oxygen demand (mg/L), chloride (mg/L), phosphate (mg/L), sulfate (mg/L), sulfite (mg/L), sodium (mg/L), potassium (mg/L), total hardness (mg/L), total alkalinity (mg/L), magnesium (mg/L), calcium (mg/L), nitrite (mg/L), nitrate (mg/L), ammonium salt (mg/L), ferrous (mg/L), lead (µg/L), copper (µg/L), cadmium (µg/L), mercury (µg/L), nickel (µg/L), and zinc (µg/L) (totally 28 parameters). The annual average physico-chemical parameter data were statistically compared between the seasons and it was determined that the water quality of ΙIΙ grade quality was determined and there was no significant pollution problem.
