Abstract (EN)

Waste sludge is obtained in the production process using rock salt. This waste sludge is used especially for cosmetic purposes. The search for a usage area for the high amount of waste sludge that was recovered continues. The aim of this research is to examine the use of waste sludge obtained during the processing of rock salt in Tuzluca region in Iğdır province for adsorbent production. Adsorption capacity of different types of adsorbents that obtained with different flocculants from sludge and made acid treatment was investigated on Congo Red dyestuff solutions.The maximum adsorbent capacity was found to be 14.28 mg/g by using the waste sludge directly after drying.It was understood that this value changed upwards with the flocculants used.It was understood that the maximum adsorbent capacities of the adsorbents increased by using HCl acid bath.The highest maximum adsorbent capacity in the study belongs to the adsorbent F1%5 with a value of 24.05 mg/g.
