Abstract (EN)

In this study, the mechanical properties of the three dimensional woven glass fiber epoxy composites in automotive, machine and building production are determined and compared with the mechanical properties of two dimensional woven fabric reinforced composite materials. For this purpose, three dimensional woven glass fiber epoxy composite materials have been produced by using vacuum infusion method. The tensile strength of the three dimensional woven glass fiber epoxy composite material is obtained after the production process and the pin are strength and mechanical properties are determined by tensile tests. The results were compared with the mechanical performance of two dimensional and three dimensional woven fabrics. As a result, the effect of the notch and pin connection geometry on the failure type and strength is investigated for two dimensional, three dimensional and hybrid samples. In addition, the effect of three dimensional knitting on impact behavior is determined by low velocity impact tests. In three dimensional woven fabrics, the use of out of plane fibers increases the tensile strength compared to two dimensional fabrics. Additionally impact tests have shown that the use of three dimensional fabric increases the amount of energy absorbation of the plate and prevents the delamination zone.
