Abstract (EN)

In this study, Natural convection heat transfer in a right triangular enclosure with baffle mounted on vertical adiabatic wall is investigated numerically. Effects of inclination of triangular enclosure with horizontal axis (?=0º-315º), baffle length (l*=0.125-0.375), baffle width (w*=0.025-0.125), baffle position on the vertical surface (h*=0.1-0.7) and thermal conductivity ratio of baffle and fluid (kr=0.1-10 and baffle is adiabatic) on natural convection heat transfer are analyzed for Rayleigh numbers between the range of 1000 and 1000000. Horizontal surface is hotter than the inclined surface and the vertical surface has adiabatic boundary condition. Differential conservation equations are solved with the commercial CFD code Ansys Fluent 13.0.As a result, It is determined that the inclination of triangle and baffle parameters has a considerable effect on natural convection. Before the 90° and after the 270° heat transfer is higher, but heat transfer decreases between the 90° and 270°. Also due to the usage of baffle, heat transfer decreases up to the rate of %24.9.KeyWords: Natural convection heat transfer, triangular enclosure, inclined triangular enclosure, usage of baffle
