Tourism product analysis for third age tourists: a practice in Alanya

Abstract (EN)

The research conducts a touristic product analysis to the third age tourists that have increasing importance. To this end, a touristic product index has been developed that may be applied to different markets. The research is conducted in the period between 2011 October to 2012 May for the third age tourists that have their vacations in Alanya. A survey method is used for the purpose of the research and it has been applied to 274 third age tourists who have their vacations in 8 different five star hospitability enterprises within the boundaries of Alanya.The research results indicate that the touristic product levels have a considerable impact on each other and there are differences between the importance levels given by third age tourists to the touristic product levels according to sociodemographic variables which have impacts on vacation decisions, and performance evaluations for tourism product levels of Alanya. Also, the results exhibit that there are difference between the importance levels given by third age tourists and performance evaluations for tourism product levels of Alanya. According to performance evaluation results for touristic product of Alanya levels made by third age tourists; there are differences in the decisions for revisiting Alanya, recommending Alanya and considerations that price of the Alanya vacation is worth it.
