The focus of the thesis is to state the desire of Dorian Gray to be eternally youngwith his relation mostly to Lord Henry Wotton, and Basil Hallward. As a result of theserelationship, Dorian changes morally. It can also be seen as a good example of the movementof Art for Art Sake. While Dorian Gray is introduced innocent and pure at the beginning ofthe novel, he then plays the role of a bad person because of outer factors, and became acharacter of not thinking anything except art and youth. The most important factor is DorianGray?s friend Lord Henry Wotton. Dorian Gray is much influenced by the hedonistic opinionsof Lord Henry and the yellow book he has given. Although Dorian tries to escape LordHenry?s influence, he can not achieve and influences the lives of others around him. In spiteof Dorian Gray has free will, he can not use this power and kills himself. The most noticeablefeature of this novel is the negative side of beauty on Dorian Gray, and morality. He seeshimself the most beautiful of all and his confused character reflects his life.
