Abstract (EN)

This study was carried out to determine the effects of bioethanol gasoline mixture and ultrasonic fuel injection system which may be used instead of petrol in spark ignition engines on the hourly fuel consumption and exhaust emissions. The fuel was atomized by high frequency sound wave and the fuel consumption and exhaust emission results of the engine were determined and compared with the current gasoline injection system and the old technology carburetor system. In the first chapter of the study, the subject was introduced and present literature samples with relation to the subject were given. In the second chapter, the experimental method was described while the third chapter tells us the experimental findings. In the fourth chapter, the gathered experimental results were discussed deeply and associated with literature. In the fifth and final chapter, the study was completed with giving the recommendations. As a result, it was observed ultrasonic fuel system has similar properties with other fuel systems. As bioethanol was added to the gasoline, it has been seen fuel consumption increased and exhaust emissions improved in all fuel systems. The lowest fuel consumption has been seen in the ultrasonic fuel system. Compared to other fuel systems, there has been a significant improvement in all of the exhaust emissions in the ultrasonic fuel system.
