Ankara institutional museums communication and design language in nation state building

In this research, what kind of effects the birth of the idea of nation-state created, the interpretation of this idea by the countries, their adoption with their own infrastructure, practices and examining by adding new interpretations. For our country, this idea was adopted by Atatürk and brought to the society with Ankara Institutional Museums and many other museums. These museums; Anatolian Civilizations Museum, Painting and Sculpture Museum, Ethnography Museum, Foundations Museum and Republic Museum. The museums of the selected institution were chosen as the museums in the Republican period and the nation-state building. In addition to this situation, since many ideologies have arisen and caused opposing thoughts and disagreements among the country's rulers and philosophers, these created ideology concepts have not survived in our lives for a long time and some of them have failed. In addition, this thesis has been analyzed through the nationstate building structure of the museums of the Republican Period. The evaluation criteria and the language of communication and design, which were determined as a result of the literature review of these institution museums, were examined. As a result of the research, despite the many positive aspects of museums, deficiencies were observed in their communication with the visitor. These deficiencies can be characterized as web design, visual identity, lack of interaction with the visitor, and inability to keep the visitor's interest alive. In addition to these, the negative effects on the visitors due to the lack of care and order in the presentation and positioning of the works are mentioned. Due to the weaknesses of museums in these aspects, they are deprived of keeping historical and cultural values up to date and valuable. As a result, in this research, the establishment purposes, positive aspects, deficiencies and communication language of museums are examined through the concept of nation-state building, its process, its effects, as well as the ideology concepts brought by it.
