Abstract (EN)
Human rights and the role of civil society play an important role in the development of all societies. It is an important sign that reflects the extent of democracy and stability in which societies live. Since Arab regimes also live in a constantly changing and developing regional and international environment, these changes and developments have affected the extent to which these regimes are interested in these two areas. Egypt and Tunisia are among the countries most affected by these changes and developments, and as a result, they have gone through different periods and stages. In both Egypt and Tunisia, human rights and civil society have witnessed a rise and fall in the extent of concern for human rights and the attention these systems provide to civil society. This study is about examining the effects of these variables from the emergence of the unipolar system in 1990 to the present day. We cover comprehensively all the changes witnessed by the world and the Arab region affecting the development of human rights and civil society in Egypt and Tunisia.
