Abstract (EN)

The research has been conducted by considering the relationship between international migration and crime in three dimensions. Firstly, conceptual definitions are made based on the historical background of migration. The relationship between international migration and crime has been handled by making use of previous studies and statistics on the subject. In the second dimension, media research was conducted on the Syrian refugees and the perception effect on the Syrian refugees attachment to crime was analyzed. Discourse analysis was performed on the concepts of stigmatization and discrimination, and perception analysis was made. In the third dimension, Turkey, the province has proportionally with the population of most Syrian refugees tried to reach the factual realities of field work conducted with experts in the field of public employees in Kilis. Qualitative research method was used in the research. Two local news websites were evaluated for media perception measurement. The oldest 'kilispostasi.com' and 'kentgazetesi.biz' sites were used to create an objective sample. For the field research, in order to reveal the articulation of Syrian refugees living in Kilis province to crime, expert staffs from public institutions who can establish the most contact with Syrian refugees were interviewed. Analyzes were obtained on the way Syrian refugees presented in the media and their inclusion in crime in Kilis province with the data obtained.
