Abstract (EN)

Global warming and climate change, two of the greatest problems of our time, have brought with them other environmental problems such as water and food shortages and energy crises. With environmental disasters increasing day by day, measures related to sustainability have been brought to the agenda at the international level. One such sustainability initiative is the green campus project. This study discusses the Green Metric evaluation method, which forms the basis of green campuses, with Bursa Technical University selected as the study area. The university participated in the Green Metric ranking for the first time in 2022, and the study compared and evaluated data from 2022, 2023, and 2024. The results of the study revealed that the most significant factor in the increase in scores over the three years was smart campus applications, that the institution placed importance on green building initiatives, and that it achieved successful results in energy and climate change ratings. The aim of this research is to provide guidance for activities that can be carried out both at Bursa Technical University, the study area, and at other higher education institutions that implement green campus initiatives.
