Investigating the relationship between university students' emotional regulation difficulty and sport

Abstract (EN)

In this research, the basic hypothesis that the research of the relationship between emotion regulation difficulty and sports relation of university students will differ in terms of various variables (age, gender, faculty, sporting status, income level) and starting from the sub-hypothesis that the emotion regulation difficulty of the students, who does sports is less. Sociodemographic Information Form; age, gender, faculty, sports status, family income level, prepared by the researcher as a data collection tool for the Investigation of the Relationship between Emotional Regulation Difficulty and Sport among University Students. There was a total of 36 items in the Emotional Difficulty Scale, which was previously validity and reliablity anlyzes were performed, and scored between 1 and 5. The scale has 6 sub-dimensions as, Awareness, Clarity, Disagreement, Strategy, Impulse and Purpose. The internal consistency coefficient of the scale was determined as 94. The population of the study consists of 41224 students from Fırat University. The sample of the research is; determined by easy sampling method (n=(n=(N.𝑡𝑠𝑑,𝛼2.p.q)/((𝛼2.(𝑁−1)+(𝑡𝑠𝑑,𝛼2.𝑝.𝑞))) and the number of subjects sufficient for the highest power was determined to be at least 381 (d=0,05, α=0,05, p=0,5). As a result; When the relationship between the emotion regulation difficulty and sports of the students at Fırat University was investigated, differentiation in age and family income was not considered statistically significant. Differentiation in gender, faculty and the number of days you do sports in a week is considered statistically significant. It was seen that the students participating in the study did not have difficulty in regulating emotions as they did sports.
