Abstract (EN)

Our study aimed to investigate the correlation between physical activity levels and life satisfaction among university students. The instruments utilized included the "Personal Information Form" developed by the researchers, the "Physical Activity Scale-2" adapted into Turkish by Gür (2021), and the "Life Satisfaction Scale" adapted into Turkish by Dağlı and Baysal (2016). In our study, the relational screening model, one of the qualitative research methods, was used. The universe of our study consists of Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University students. The results indicated no significant correlation between the metabolic equivalent (MET) values derived from the physical activity scale and the overall life satisfaction scores. Gender-based analyses revealed that MET values were predominantly higher among male participants. Moreover, comparisons by faculty/college illustrated that students in Sports Sciences exhibited greater MET values than their counterparts in Pharmacy, Education, and Foreign Languages. Additionally, it was identified that students in Islamic Sciences reported higher life satisfaction compared to those in Health Sciences. In terms of regular physical activity engagement, significant differences were observed in both MET scores and life satisfaction scores, favoring individuals who participated in regular physical activity. No correlations were identified between MET scores and life satisfaction scores in relation to age; however, a moderate positive relationship was noted with body mass index (BMI). No significant difference were observed concerning the other variables.
