Abstract (EN)
In this research, it is aimed to examine the concept of quite ego which started to be mentioned in new approaches about self. In this context, it was aimed to determine whether authenticity, social connectedness, and intolerance of uncertainty variables were significant predictors of quite ego level. The study group of the study consisted of 789 university students attending Anadolu University's formal education programs in the spring term of 2018- 2019 academic year. The data of the study were collected by "Quite Ego Scale, Authenticity Scale, Social Connectedness Scale"and"Intolerance to Uncertainty Scale". Data were analyzed by hierarchical regression analysis. At the end of the study, it was found that the authentic living and self-alienation dimensions of university students' authenticity and social connectedness and gender (female) variables were significant predictors of quite ego-level.These variables explained 12% of the total variance. The beta coefficients of these predictors were found to be authentic life (β = .21), self-alienation (β = -.15), social connectedness (β = .11) and gender (β = .08). As a result, being a woman and having an authentic life and strong social connectedness play a remarkable role in the development of the quite ego.
