Abstract (EN)
The main purpose of this research is the use of Facebook, Instagram and other pages by Istanbul Gelişim University students. To verify its use. It explores attitudes towards reporting news through short videos on social media. The questionnaire was used as a data collection tool for students at Istanbul Gelişim University in Turkey, where 374 questionnaires were randomly distributed to students from various colleges. After collecting the data, the researcher coded the data and used descriptive analyses, correlation analysis, and regression to discover the relationship between the study variables. The results showed a positive, statistically significant relationship between engaging content, scenario-based experiences, user engagement, and student attitudes. Looking at the results in the regression table, we see that the interaction of engaging content, scenario-based experience, and user interaction has a statistically significant effect on student attitudes, and the P value is less than 5%. The results also showed that the regression coefficient value was 0.832. This means that the ability of the independent variables to predict the change in the dependent variable is great. Hypotheses H1 H2 H3 were accepted because we found that watching short videos (reels), interesting content, scenario-based experience, and interacting with user engagement had a statistically significant effect on students' attitudes. In Turkey, social media plays an important role in social interaction, especially among university students. Nowadays, most students use social media for more than just chatting; They also use it to learn, discover information, and watch the news.
