The examination of the process of university students socialization and their recreation activities: The example of Erciyes University

The main purpose of the study named as 'The Examination of The Process of University Students Socialization and Their Recreation Activities: The Example of Erciyes University' is to determine students' interests in recreation activities, participation and socialization tendencies. For this purpose, the factors that the participation in recreational activities and relationship with the socialization of these factors have been tried to determine. The study consists of three parts. The first part includes socialization, social notions and theories. Second part includes literature review related to recreation. The third part contains the purpose and the importance of the study and an analysis about the data that have been gathered from the questionnaire directed to university students. As the result of the findings culture, family and school has been found the most important element in the process of students' socialization and also 'Competence – Mastery' element has been determined as the most important factor for the participation of recreation activities (motivation).
