Abstract (EN)

The main goals of this research were to realize any sign of improvement in the properties of the clayey soil due to addition of the glass powder (GP) using deep mixing technique. This research presents the experiment work were conducted using GP at different proportion of 3, 6, and 9% (as partial cement replacement) mixed with cement to present the grout and mixed with the clayey soil that characterized by has different water content of (36%, 31% and 21%) to prepare the mixtures and then the unconfined compressive strength (UCS), elastic modulus and the ultrasonic pulse velocity (UPV) of the soilcrete samples were determined at 7, 14 and 28 day air curing. In the second part of this experiment research the initial and final setting (early hydration) of the pastes in which prepared like first part of the study were measured using Vicat test. The key findings from the research were that the addition of GP up to 3% has an effect to achieve the higher values of the UCS and elastic modulus at all curing ages. On the other hand, it found that with addition of the GP to the mixtures resulted to decrease the pulse velocity of the soilcrete samples at 7 and 14- day of curing time. It also indicated that with decreasing the water content of the clay soil the setting times, bulk density, UCS, elastic modulus and UPV of the soilcrete samples increased. The findings from the test results indicated that both initial and final setting time of the pastes increases with addition of GP.
