Abstract (EN)

Solar cells do not have ability to absorb the majority of the electromagnetic waves that are coming towards them. Our aim is using MXene which is a new member of two-dimensional (2D) materials family to increase the solar cells efficiency by increase the absorption coefficient. We designed, simulated and analyzed MXene metamaterial absorber in the visible frequency region for solar cell applications. Titanium carbide (Ti_3 C_2 T_x) was used as a dielectric layer of proposed solar cell absorber. Electromagnetic response of the proposed design is computationally analyzed using a full-wave electromagnetic solver simulation program. Geometric parameters of design were carefully analyzed to show absorption behavior of proposed design. The proposed design provide maximum of 96.8 % absorption and it is independent from normal incidence (transverse electromagnetic mode), so proposed design can be good candidate for the solar cell applications.
