Abstract (EN)

In this study, which was carried out with pre-service science teachers, it was aimed to investigate different dimensions such as knowledge, attitudes and behaviors related to global warming and climate change, to examine the changes in the result of distance education and to improve distance education by taking the opinions of prospective teachers about distance education. used. In the quantitative data collection phase of the study, the "global warming knowledge, attitude and behavior scale" (CIBTSS) was used, and this KIBTSS was applied to 90 people before the training and to 64 people after the training in the form of pretest-posttest. After the application, a structured interview was planned with 11 participants, and the interview was held one month after the training to determine the permanence of the training. In addition, written and oral evaluations were made immediately after the training and to measure whether the distance education met the expectation. 40 people participated in the written evaluation. The collected quantitative data were analyzed with Chi-square test, Mann Whitney-U test, Wilcoxon test, and interview data were analyzed with theme analysis. According to the pre-test results, it was determined that the pre-service science teachers had a low level of knowledge about global warming and climate change, and they lacked knowledge, including basic subjects. However, it has been revealed that they have positive attitudes and behaviors against global warming, albeit at a certain level. After the experimental application, it was concluded that the knowledge, attitude and behavior scores towards global warming and climate change increased in line with the posttest scores and showed statistical differences. Pre-service teachers had a positive attitude towards distance education due to the methods and methods used in distance education.
