Abstract (EN)
In this study, the behaviour of a tall building designed in accordance with the rules given in TBDY-2018 in the long period region of the earthquake motion is examined. In the study, in accordance with TBDY-2018, the detailed information about materials models, material behaviour, plastic hinge concept, the earthquake code regulation conditions and the stages of the nonlinear design stages, and the software used in the study are given. First, a tall building was selected from the literature and numerically modelled. The model was validated by comparison with the literature. Then, earthquake records were selected and scaled as defined in TBDY-2018. Finally, using the obtained earthquake records, the structural analysis was carried out with a finite element software that employs "fast nonlinear analysis" method and the results were interpreted. It has been seen that distant earthquakes and long period surface waves should be considered in the design and analysis of tall buildings. The larger negative earthquake effects may occur in the structure after the strong part of the acceleration records has passed.
