Abstract (EN)
The research has been made to clarify and define the maternal satisfaction in the early postpartum period. The research has been carried out with 300 on their postpartum first day and who had given a birth in Turkish Republic Ministry of Health State Hospitals Union Denizli State Hospital. In collecting the data in the research "Question Form" and "Evaluation Criteria of Maternal Satisfaction in Normal Birth" is used. For Statistical analyzis in the evaluation of the data NCSS (Number Cruncher Statistical System) 2007 (Kaysville, Utah, USA) is used. While evaluating the data of the researc, Kruskal Wallis test in matching three and more groups which do not show normal distrubution in arithmetical data and Mann Whitney U test in identifiying the groups which cause difference are used besides statistical methods (Average, Standard Deviation, Median, Frequency, Rate, Minimum, Maximum) statistical meaning is considered in the levels of p<0,01 and p<0,05. Mothers are considered to have a medium level satisfaction in the avarage points of total evaluation in the sub dimensions of Maternal Satisfaction Evaluation Criteria at Birth like Perceiveness of the Health Team (9,98±4,66), Nursery/Midwifery Care at Birth (4,70±2,44), Relaxation (8,99±3,57), Enrolling in Decisions and Getting Information (10,99±5,93), Meeting the baby (7,38±3,72), Postpartum Care (12,95±5,51), Clinic Room (8,53±4,78), Opportunities of the Hospital (6,44±3,63), Respect to Privacy (12,15±3,27) and Meeting the Expectations (11,15±4,26).When the total points are evaluated in the Maternal Satisfaction Evaluation Criteria, satisfaction of the mothers are found low in Hospital Care in Normal Birth with a point of (93,25±25,83) far below the cutoff 150,5. As a result of statistical analyzis carried out, Mothers who have equal family income with their expenses, pregrancy due to schedule, regular pregrancy ckeck ups, no problems at birth, suffer from hunger and thirts for a long time have lower satisfaction from the care they have taken from the hospital at normal birth (p<0,05). Mothers who have been applied oxytocin, enema, amniyotomi, permenant EFM, episiotomy, extraction, fundal pressure have less satisfaction during the care they have taken from the hospital at birth (p<0,05). According to the results of this research, mothers have low satisfaction from the care they have taken from the hospital in their early period after vaginal birth. Some socioeconomic, obstetrics specifications and applications during the birth have affected the satisfaction levels of the mothers. Key Words: Vaginal Birth, Early Period After Birth, Maternal Satisfaction, Midwifery.
