Abstract (EN)

Foundations are the symbols and representative organizations founded by Muslims throughout the history of Islam. The foundations act as cooperation and solidarity leading centers between all the Islamic geographies and societies from past to present day, with the religious, scientific and social overriding aspects. The tradition of founding a foundation that became widespread due to the belief of "eternal favor or permanent help (endless Islam alms)", which has a very rooted place in Islamic culture, means "continuity charity and goodness", was one of the first dynamics that held the Ottoman Empire for six centuries. In the meantime, Bursa city is the most ancient capital city of the Ottoman State (1326-1362) and it is in a very important position in terms of foundations. According to this, Bursa has the characteristic of being a city which foundations hosted within very rich materials in terms of documents. Therefore, The Bursa Archives of the Religious Documents (The Bursa Records of the Shari'a) is indispensable for the Ottoman History researchers. By the way we decided to work on a topic bearing the title of "According to the Charities Foundations and Theirs Functions in Bursa in the First Quarter of the XVIII Century (1701-1725). This work, which covers a period of 25 years, consists of with an introduction, three chapters and one conclusion parts. In the introduction, preliminary information was given about the foundation institutions and the records of foundation documents by the method of studying in terms of scientific research techniques. In this context, the subject, purpose, scope of the research, basic concepts and main sources are briefly emphasized. In the first chapter "Foundations by Founders or Constituents" in the second chapter "Foundations according to charitable foundations" and in the third section "According to devote foundations or service purposes" with these issues threads are examined. After a general evaluation, the study was completed.
