Abstract (EN)

As in every area of development, hereditary characteristics along with interactional environmental features play a decisive role in religious and moral development. The period when individuals are most susceptible to the influence of the environment is the preschool period. It is extremely important for individuals to live in an environment that supports their religious development during this period. In the last quarter of a century, the rapid departure from the traditional family structure has resulted in individuals largely lacking a family environment that supports their religious and moral development in the preschool period. Parents who are unable to provide sufficient and quality religious education services to their children and are disturbed by this deficiency have sought a reliable source to address this shortfall. The Presidency of Religious Affairs has aimed to respond to this search by establishing 4-6 age group Quran courses. The extent to which these courses meet the aforementioned needs is a very important issue that should be the subject of scientific research. This study was conducted to determine the impact of the education provided in the 4-6 age group Quran courses on children's behavior within the family environment. In the study, semi-structured interview technique was used as the data collection tool. Interviews were conducted with 25 mothers whose children were attending 4-6 age group Quran courses operating in the city center of Uşak. From the data obtained during the research process, it was concluded that the education provided in the 4-6 age group Quran courses had a highly positive impact on the children's relationships with family members, their behavior regarding order/discipline, manners/courtesy, and worship, their gaining of self-confidence, and their socialization. Additionally, it was understood that the education provided in the 4-6 age group Quran courses, albeit limited, contributed to the children beginning to use technological tools consciously and appropriately. The data obtained in the study revealed the importance of instructors working in 4-6 age group Quran courses cooperating more closely with parents.
