Abstract (EN)

In this study, it is aimed to measure and evaluate the efficiency of nine banks with public and private capital, which are traded in Borsa Istanbul between the years 2018 - 2020. In the study, output-oriented CCR and BCC methods were used to measure the efficiency of banks. In the study, the profitability approach aiming at maximizing the profit was taken as the basis and based on the studies in the literature and the structure of the research, the input variables were determined as deposit and total interest expenses. Output variables are; total interest income and net profit for the period. Output-oriented BCC and CCR models were applied for the 9 banks that were the subject of the study and efficiency values were given according to years. As a result of the study, it was seen that 3 banks according to the CCR model and 6 banks according to the BCC model were effective in 2018. In 2019, 3 banks according to the CCR model; According to the BCC model, 7 banks are active. In 2020, 4 banks according to the CCR model and 8 banks according to the BCC model are active. It is observed that public banks are not efficient except in 2018.
