Evaluation of ege related degenerative changes in vitreous with quantitative MRI measurements

In our study, considering the T1 measurements statistically significant difference has been detected between second and fourth group (p=0.004) and between third and foyrth group (p=0.0001). Mean T1 value in 2. group 231.04 (SS:49.77) while it is 254.07 (SS: 36.08) in 4. group. Mean T1 values in 3. versus 4. groups were measured as respectively 222.10 (SS:41.37) and 254.07 (SS:36.08). A statistically significant increasement in T1 values has been found with the increasing age. T2 measurements of 1 and 4. , 2 and 4. groups statistically significant difference has been detected. Mean T2 values in 2. versus 4. group were respectively as 1644.62 (SS:147.32) and 1542.91 (SS:171.65) and a statistically significant decreasment in T2 values has been found with the increasing age. No statistically significant difference has been detected among the age groups ADC measurements.İn this study we concluded that additional T1 and T2 signal measurements with convantional MRI can be used to measure the viscosityl due to vitreus liquefaction and that the ADC measurements do not reflect the decreatment of viscosity in vitreus.
