Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to compare the A1-A2 level Yunus Emre Institute children's story books and Oxford English children's story books created for teaching Turkish to foreigners in terms of form and content. Five of each of the two sets of children's story books were randomly selected and analyzed. Literature research was conducted and data were collected with the criteria prepared by considering the internal structure and external structure dimensions of children's story books in the light of expert opinions. In this qualitative study, data were obtained through document analysis. The data obtained from both books were analyzed with descriptive analysis technique. As a result of the study, story books written in both languages differ in terms of external structure features such as shape and size, cover and binding, paper type, page arrangement, letters and font size, and visuals, while they are similar in terms of line spacing and length.
