Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to reveal the life of Prophet Ishmael, the eldest son of Abraham, and his position in the perspective of Judaism and Islam. There are many differences in Judaism and Islamic narratives about the prophet Ishmael as a character. Therefore, his life should be examined on the basis of both his own terminology and belief values. Otherwise, it is inevitable to reach false perceptions and conclusions. The study consist of an introduction and three parts. In the introduction part, information about the importance, aim and limits of our study is given, and the method we use in this study is presented and the difficulties encountered are discussed. The first cleaning, the meaning of the Atalar period is explained briefly, Patriarchs Abraham, Patriarchs Isaac and Patriarchs Jacop life is told about the concept of ''Chosen'' the historical process was evaluated. In the second part, the life of the Prophet İshmael from the perspective of Jewish life is explained and information about the position of the other is given to him while his life is explained. In the third chapter the Qur'an verses and Islamic sources tell the life or the Prophet Ishmael, and provide answers to the information claimed by the Jews, In the conclusion part information about the historical beginning of the fight between Isaac and Ishmael between Judaism and Islam is given.
