Sampled dictionary and conceptual field of works of Yahya Kemal

Yahya Kemal Beyatlı, who lived between 1884 and 1958, is one of eximious persons of our literature. The years during which he lived corresponds to quite painful period of our history. Yahya Kemal both witnessed labefaction of Ottoman Empire and statehood of a renascent nation. Researching literary works of Yahya Kemal Beyatlı academically will mirror to both geography and period he lived. When the places he performed a duty, traveled and saw, the information he obtained thereabouts, and the cultures he observed cohered with extensive knowledge existing in him, invaluable works of our culture showed up. One of the finest ways reaching to rection of an artist is to do indexed dictionary study and reveal conceptual field classification of all works of that artist. We also researched on rection of Yahya Kemal Beyatlı in order to make participation to the dictionary studies. With this study, we did indexed dictionary of complete works of Yahya Kemal Beyatlı, a literary man, intellectual and statesman, who was an important personality of his period and shed light on the future generations with both his life and works, and conceptual field classification of the vocabularies mentioned in his complete works. Our thesis named Sampled Dictionary and Conceptual Field of Yahya Kemal consists of three main chapters and conclusion. In the first chapter of the study, we gave information related to the life, works, aspects affecting our literature and personality of Yahya Kemal. In the second chapter, we mentioned to the vocabulary and conceptual field subjects. Moreover, we did distribution of the words that Yahya Kemal used in his works. In the third chapter, we discoursed on the dictionary, lexicography and index concepts and did the sampled dictionary of all works of Yahya Kemal Beyatli. In conclusion, we reached to the results related to the vocabulary of Yahya Kemal with the statistical data and made comments related to the conceptual field.
