Abstract (EN)
In this study, the behavior of lateral deformation of concrete confined by FRP (Fiber Reinforced Polymer) under axial compression was investigated. Three different concrete grades of C20, C50, C75 and two different Jacket thickness of single layer, double layer and two different jacket materials of AFRP (Aramid Fiber Reinforced Polymer), GFRP (Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer) were used as the variables. An experimental study was conducted to determine mechanical behavior of concrete confined by FRP sheets. As an experimental test results, axial stress-strain relationship were given graphically. The strength and ductility of concrete were significantly increased by wrapping FRP sheets. This increase was decreases with concrete strength increase. Keywords: Aramid, Reinforcing, Fiberglass,
