Abstract (EN)
In this study, the failure and yield curves for pinus sylvestris that is assumed as a transversely isotropic fiber composite metarial were determined experimentaly using strain gages. For this purpose; tensile, compression and torsion tests were performed on specimens prepared according to Turkish standarts and s - e (normal stress-normal strain), t -g (shear stress-shear strain) curves were plotted. From these plottings the yielding stresses were determined by intersecting the curve and a straight line having an inclination of 5% less than the slope of the linear part the curve. By using these data, approximate yield and failure curves were drawn in the s1 -s2 principal plane. Key Words : Scotch pine (Pinus sylvestris), transversely isotropic, yield curve, failure curve, tensile-compression-torsion tests.
