Abstract (EN)

The human population increases all over the world so energy consumption increases accordingly. Approximately 28% of the used energy is consumed in buildings. Therefore, the importance of energy saving in all structures, especially for buildings, increases over time. However, in order to make the most efficient savings, the suitable material selection and the proper application should be made in the field. In this study, by mentioning the importance of thermal insulation, the chemical structures of the existing materials were discussed and their thermal conductivity coefficients were evaluated. Comparisons were made between existing materials. The damages that can be given to the structure during the insulation application phase were examined in terms of engineering aspects and final results were obtained. In order to obtain full efficiency from the material used, the correct thermal insulation application was explained in detail. At the end of this study, in order to achieve the desired energy savings in a building, the correct material selection and the correct application were specified in detail.
