Seren AKAVCI GÜVENTurkish Earthquake Code (TDY98) was published in September 1997 in theofficial gazette and it was come into force dating from 1 January 1998. In theregulation, considering structural irregularities, earthquake analysis of structural isrequired to calculate three-dimensional.Structural irregularities are assembled in two main groups. Irregularities inthe plan include are torsional irregularity (A1), the irregularity related to floor inwhich there are big holes or abrupt reductions in the stiffness (A2), the irregularityrelated to large projections in the plan (A3) and the irregularity caused by structuralelement axes being nonparallel with the earthquake directions (A4), verticalirregularities are weak storey (B1), soft storey (B2), and the irregularities caused bythe discontinuity of vertical structural elements (B3).In this study the Turkish Earthquake Code has been studied, and the effect ofA2 irregularity case and effect of shear walls are examined. The equivalentearthquake load method offered by Turkish Earthquake Code is used with the rigiddiaphragm model and the shell model to solve the structure by SAP2000 computersoftware.Key Words: Turkish Earthquake Code, Earthquake analysis, Equivalent earthquakeload method, A2 irregularity caseII
