Two okra-leaf and four normal-leaf cultivars, total sixcultvars in Gossypium hirsutum L. were used as the material in the study. In the study the effects of the leaf number and the leaf area on the yield and thetechnological characteristics of cotton were investigated. The correlations betweenthe investigated characteristics were also determinated. From the study it was found that there were signifficantly differences amongcultivars for plant height, number of leaf, leaf area, seed cotton yield, weight of seedcotton per boll, number of boll, number of frutting branch, number of vegetativebranch, number of node the first fruiting branch, first picking percentage, ginningpercentage, fibre strength; while there were no statistical differences for short fibreindex, length of fibre strength, uniformity ratio of fibre, fibre finenness and fibrelength.Key Words: Cotton, Leaf Area, Leaf Number, Seed Yield Cotton4
