Abstract (EN)

In the study named "Knowledge Management in Production Process at Press Organizations", it is referred to the importance that newspapers and magazines of press should benefit from knowledge management in order to get into a better position and to develop the process. Briefly, considering the most important elements of news production process and in order to make reader access available as soon as possible, it is emphasized the contributions of the existing knowledge management system to the process. With the advancing technology, gaining importance of Internet and information technology brings press organizations to a different position in the competitive market. At this point, it is of great importance that press organizations assuming the responsibility of performing knowledge transfer fast should benefit from the knowledge management system for the purpose of rapid development of the process. Thus, knowledge management is an important system that forms the basis of structural changes to improve the production process of press organizations. However, knowledge management isn't the way to be followed in resolving the problems regarding press organizations in the short term. With the increasing importance of knowledge-based society in the universe we live, people searching for knowledge cannot always achieve the intended goals. In our universe, masses and communities haven't reached the required knowledge on time. In our study focused on the knowledge gap theory to this respect, the activities performed for the production process by the press organizations having knowledge and the activities performed in the production process by the press organizations which cannot benefit from the knowledge management are considered. The impact of the information technology and knowledge workers that organizations don't have forms the basis of the existing information asymmetry. At the end of the study; while it has been revealed that the activities carried out by the press organizations in the production process may not be performed independently from the knowledge management, it is determined that press organizations have also developed information control system in order to avoid making mistake in production process due to the lack of information sharing control at the present time.
