Abstract (EN)

Basic dimercury (I) nitrate [Hg10(OH)4(NO3)6] which is a basic salt was produced with a new production method. In this method, using the electrolysis with mercury catode not only sodium borohydride can be produced but also the basic dimercury (I) nitrate synthesis is available with that simple and fast way. Its electrochemical behaviour was researched with cyclic voltammetry in aqueous and anhydrous media. One oxidation and two reduction peaks were obtained in aqueous media. In anhydrous media there was one oxidation and reduction peak. Acording to the pH, height of the peaks and reduction potentials change. Productions of the reaction was explained with mass spectrometry, X-Ray diffraction (XRD) and FTIR (Fourier transform infrared) analyses. Reaction mechanisms were written acording to the data was obtained. Keywords: Basic dimercury (I) nitrate, mercury nitrate, sodium borohydride, electrolysis.
