Abstract (EN)

Lithium-ion batteries are the most widely used battery type in electric vehicles compared to other batteries. Scientists have turned to other battery chemistries because of the low reserves of lithium in the world, the high cost and the negative effects of lithium mining on the environment. Prominent among these chemistries are sodium-based batteries. Many studies have been conducted on the characteristic properties of sodium batteries, but there are no studies on the cost of sodium batteries. Since batteries constitute 25% of the total cost of electric vehicles, the cost of NaMn//HC, NaV//HC, NaNi//HC and NaCo//HC sodium batteries was calculated using the "BatPaC" calculation method in this study, in which the effect of switching from lithium to sodium on the battery cost was examined. Thus, a battery can be designed in accordance with market conditions and a realistic cost estimate can be made. Keywords: Lithium, sodium, BatPaC, battery
