Reconstructed in teacher training faculties (department of painting-art and craft education) the hümanist approach to the art education

xvu ABSTRACT The aim of this research is to investigate the views of instructors and students who are at Arts Department of Education Faculty on Hümanizm and whether Hümanizm is seen in Art Education within reconstructing. This research was conducted on 13 instructors and 60 students who were at Arts Department of Eduction Faculty at 6 Universities in Turkey in 2004-2005 academic year. The semi-structured interview forms which contained questions related with Hümanizm in arts education at recontructed Education Faculties was used in this research. In this research 34 sub-problems were replied and content analyze is used for analyzing the data. The findings can be summarized as follows: 1. It is shown that the views of instructors (%84,61) were not asked for recontructing education faculties which was not in human nature and democratically and seemed as a sanction. 2. It is clearly understood that reconstructing, especially at anatolian universities, executed without preparing the requirements of substructure of it, and this is not a good approach for the success of arts education and for human ethics. 3. The programme of Arts Education which was prepared without asking views of experts, instructors and students instructors is not sufficient. 4. Collecting both Arts Education Division and Music Education Division in one Department is founded as a negative improvement and an anti-humanist approach. 5. History of Arts, Aesthetics, Practice and Criticism at Arts Education took place in the programme in company with "Practice of Arts Training", "Methods of Special Training"and "Museum Education and Practice".xvm 6. Starting and maintaining the study of self-control, evaluating of feedbacks, accreditation are essential for the humanist arts education. 7. After the reconstructing, the problems of Arts Education Departments do not change. It is necessary to solve these problems for the success at Arts Education. 8. Executing Arts Educaton Programmes in human nature depends on quality and quantity of instructors. 9. Some attitudes of instructors to students at meoretic/ttaining education and atelier courses were not in human nature. 10. Students found the examination that given after graduation from their departments as a stress and thought that this is not humanistic. 11. The problems caused by uncertainty about the status of research assistants must be solved to provide them to be trained in suitable academic conditions. According to the findings of this research, re-evaluating, renewing and updating art education programmes would support training art teachers who can combine aesthetics with human values and who are modern, productive, independent and respectful to others' independence, in short who are humanist.
